A Day at Agtegra

Updated: Apr 16

On April 9th, our Intro to Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources students took a field trip to visit a couple of Agtegra locations and get a firsthand look at the many facets of the ag industry.

Our first stop was in Andover, SD, where students learned about key operations including grain grading, running the probe, grain marketing, and how safety is always the top priority. We also got to learn about how grain is loaded onto trains!

Next, we visited the Bath Innovation Center, where students explored a wide range of careers in agriculture and discovered what a typical day looks like for professionals working there. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was learning about the use of drones in modern agriculture. These high-tech tools can fly over 30 MPH and carry more than 100 pounds—offering a glimpse into the future of farming.

Overall, it was a fantastic day of learning and discovery. Huge thanks to Agtegra for welcoming us and giving our students such an exciting, educational experience!
